Hi. I'm the developer of MacroStack AI. This is a one-person indie app, which means when you email support, I read it. No ticketing queue, no outsourced reply team. If something is broken, confusing, or missing, I want to hear about it.

Quick answers
I logged a food and the macros look wrong. Can I fix it?
Yes. Tap the food entry in your Daily Log to open it, then edit the calories and macros directly. Changes are local to that entry and won't affect the original food in the database.
The AI food scanner got the food wrong. What do I do?
Tap the result to edit it before saving, or tap Scan Again to retake the photo. For best results, take a top-down photo with good lighting and include a reference object (fork, hand) to help the model estimate portion size. Photos of packaged food labels work better than photos of the food itself for branded items.
Why does my calorie goal keep changing?
That's the auto-adjustment feature working as intended. Every week on your weigh-in day, MacroStack recalculates your calorie target based on your actual weight trend and food logging. If you're gaining when you shouldn't be, your target drops. If you're losing when you shouldn't be, it rises. You can turn this off in Settings under Goals if you'd rather lock in a fixed target.
Does it work offline?
Mostly. Manual food logging, barcode scanning of items in our bundled database, weight tracking, macro math, and the calorie ring all work without internet. The AI Food Scanner and AI Coach require an internet connection because they call a cloud AI model.
How do I export or back up my data?
Settings → Export Data. You'll get a JSON file covering your food log, weight history, goals, and (optionally) chat history. You can password-encrypt the export. The file never touches our servers; it's shared directly from your device through whichever method you pick (AirDrop, Files, email, etc.).
How do I delete my data?
Settings → Reset App wipes all local data: food log, weight history, profile, goals, and chat history. Because MacroStack doesn't have user accounts or cloud storage, deleting the app from your device also deletes all personal data associated with it. There's nothing we need to delete on our end, because we don't have it.
Does MacroStack have ads?
No. No ads, no ad tracking, no data sold. Never planned, never coming.
Is my food log private?
Yes. Your food log, weight history, goals, and profile are stored on your device only. They never touch our servers. The only data the app sends to us is a randomly generated device identifier used for AI rate limiting. See the full privacy policy for details on how AI features handle the photos and messages you submit to them.
Report a bug
Email the address above with:
- What you were doing when the bug happened
- What you expected to happen
- What actually happened

- A screenshot or screen recording if you can
The more detail, the faster I can fix it.
Feature requests
Have an idea for something MacroStack should do? Email it in. I read every one, and real user requests are the main input for what ships next. I can't promise to build everything, but I can promise to read everything.
